Nursery / Toddler / Preschool Ministry
In the Nursery, we consider it a great privilege to bring each baby, toddler, and preschooler to Jesus’ lap, whether through songs, Bible stories, prayer,or play. For more information contact Leslie Buehrer (397-1426)

At the Vineyard Church, we believe in doing what Christ does. This means welcoming children with open arms, caring for every child as tenderly as a mother (Isaiah 66:13), and teaching them to know and follow God (Proverbs 22:6).
It’s More Than Just Babysitting!
In our Nurseries, we introduce children to Christ - sometimes for the first time in a child’s life. From changing diapers and playing to reading Bible stories and praying, we show the tender love of Christ in ways both practical and spiritual.
At the Vineyard, we love to serve families by providing a safe, fun, and Christ-centered atmosphere for every child in our Nurseries.
* Our Child Claim Tag system ensures the security of each child.
* Trained volunteers (6 each week) enjoy interacting with and praying for our children.
* Age-appropriate toys and activities help children enjoy their special time away from their parents.
* Sharing, listening, working together, and other social skills are developed.
* Special bonds and friendships are formed among the children and with the volunteers.
Our Nursery Programs
Infants (birth until steadily walking)
Infants now have their own special nursery staffed with trained volunteers who specifically desire to care and pray for our babies. Nursing moms are always welcome to feed their babies in the Infant Nursery. The Infant Nursery is next door to the Toddler & Preschooler Nursery.
Toddlers (walking to 36 months)
The major “program” for our toddlers involves supervised free-play, songs and stories about God, and prayer for the children. A simple snack is provided. The toddlers and preschoolers play together in the Toddler & Preschooler Nursery.
Preschoolers (3 - 5 years)
Preschoolers can expect the same “program” as the toddlers plus an interactive Sunday school lesson each week. The preschoolers and toddlers play together in the Toddler & Preschooler Nursery.
Our Nurseries are open each Sunday from 9:45 AM until 15 minutes after the Celebration Service ends. Parents must stay in the building while their children are in our Nurseries.
Volunteering for Nursery Ministry
We invite adults, college students, and youth (middle school - high school) who would like to serve in one of our Nurseries to contact Leslie Buehrer and fill out a Volunteer Application.
The following are a few basic requirements for those wishing to serve in our Nurseries:
* A love of babies and children
* Willingness to serve once a month for at least 4 months
* A commitment to the Vineyard Church of Knox County
* Involvement in a home group (with some exceptions)
* Willingness to submit to a background check to ensure the safety of our children
