Sermon Audio from Sunday, August 28, 2005 — When I think of crazy people, I think of the X-Games. You know the X-games, don't you? These games have been conducted for 11 years for those people who are absolutely crazy! And when I say crazy, I mean fearless. They are nuts! These people are flying through the air on bikes or skateboards, neither of which, by the way, catch the air bringing you softly to the ground or pad your fall when you hit the ground. And, knowing this, they are spinning and twisting and somersaulting 10, 20, 30 feet above the earth like they don't have a fear in the world. Wow!
Our series on walking with God takes a look at someone in the Bible I believe would love to be an X-gamer, King David. David was fearless, but he wasn't fearless as an adrenaline addict; he was fearless because he walked closely with God every day of his life. That's our goal in this series, too, to learn to walk with God in this day and age just as the biblical heroes did in their day. Today we see that as we walk with God and know the God who is walking with us, we become fearless.
