Sermon Audio from Sunday, May 22, 2005 — I'll get right to the point: My goal here is to dispel the commonly held myth that there is a depth of relationship with God that is reserved for only the professional Christians, the faithful elite, if you will. I want you to be convinced that God has opened the door and invited you through it to a life of intimate interaction with Him through the Holy Spirit. For you to be convinced of this we first must come to the understanding that Jesus, as the worship song goes, "came from heaven to earth to show the way, from the earth to the cross, my debt to pay." Jesus is our model and he has paid for and paved the way for this eternal kind of life. I wonder, what do you think of when I use the phrase, "eternal life?" Getting this answer right will start us out on the right foot in our study today. What comes to mind; what is your definition? Is it forever life? Or, do you define it as the life we will experience when we die? Of course there is a grain of truth to these two definitions: it is forever and we will experience it when we die. But this is only a part of the truth.
