You Reap What You Sow

Sermon Audio from Sunday, May 15, 2005 — What we will find as we sow to the Spirit and not the flesh, is a life lived in alignment with the Spirit. Practically speaking, those who sow to the Spirit in determination to walk by the Spirit are not "heads-in-the-clouds" people who speak in riddles and have mystical experiences every day. No, simply put, they are servants. Galatians 5-6 is full of practical advice for Spirit-walkers: "You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."; (Galatians 5:13-14); "Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."; (Galatians 6:1-2); "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." (Galatians 6:10). The Spirit life is not some mysterious, head-in-the-clouds, life. It's a get your hands dirty kind of life of service to others. If you want to live by the Spirit, you'll find yourself in sacrificial service to others
