A view into day-to-day life at the Vineyard Church of Knox County.

Project Renovation (january newsletter)

In the midst of the holidays, much work was done on the new building, as well as many friendships beginning as well as established relationships deepening.
In December and the beginning of January much progress was made.

Building 1A conduit was placed in the floor from the sound booth to the stage, to allow for A/V wiring. The kitchen wall was framed. Cry Room was framed.  The sound booth was built.  The floor was cut and jack-hammered out to prepare for the installation of the plumbing.  The Plate glass windows were removed, and the holes framed in and covered with sheeting.  A set of double doors was installed in the back of the building, which will be one of two main entrances.  The insulation is all down out of the ceiling in the Worship Center.  There has been a lot of debris removal and clean up done by many hands.

Building 2Framing is complete in Building 2 for the offices and nursery, toddler, preschooler, and K-6 grader ministry rooms. The receptacle rough in wiring is almost complete, and the lighting wiring is getting under way. The electrical panel was re-positioned and hooked back up.  Installation of the furnaces has begun.  Installation of the phone system and computer network has begun.
December 31, 2005 is a day that will be remembered by many people in our body.  That day we were blessed to have 20 men from The Vineyard Church of Delaware County come and assist us in our endeavor.  That was also the day that Emmett Reisinger was injured while working on the building.  God protected Emmett from greater injury, and is at work in his life.  May God bless VCDC and Emmett.

Project Renovation (december newsletter)

We are excited about what God has already done in the midst of Project Renovation!  Many people have come and served, making the task more enjoyable and the process more efficient.  We have also been blessed with gifts of food, drinks, gas stove, radios, TV, microwave, fridge & space heater.  Up to this point we have accomplished much.

Building 1 - Is gutted to bare walls and rafters - the crews have pulled up the carpet, scraped and scrubbed the carpet foam out, taken the ceiling tiles and insulation down, removed the fixtures, knocked down the cement wall near the kitchen for a wider rear entryway, all debris has been dumped and swept, electric panels are beginning to be moved, etc.

Also the wall between the Worship Center and Fellowship area is framed

Building 2 - Has been gutted and is in the building phase the crews have removed lights, taken out air conditioners and reframed the holes, removed room dividers, taken down the ceiling tiles, and framed the office section.

And there has been a lot of time put into researching each project, collecting bids from contractors, and starting a Volunteer Interior Design Crew.

An Old Building, A New family, And Blessing From God.

The Vineyard Church of Knox County is little over two years old.  In the short time in the life of VCKC, there has been some wonderful blessing on both community of Mount Vernon and the church family.

The most recent blessing is the purchase of a building to house the church; we are currently meeting in the MTV High School Theater.  On October 23 the Church, through God, raised enough money for the down payment as well pledge money for half of the loan of the next few years, which means the building is half paid for.

The building used to be a furniture store.  VCKC has decided to do the majority of the reconstruction themselves only to contact out the work that the State of Ohio states to be.  So VCKC has started on a revitalization of the new building.  This going to be a lot of work, though the church knows from past experiences that God has blessed this new building for the continue work of spreading His word to the community.
