A view into day-to-day life at the Vineyard Church of Knox County.

Praise God and Thank You (April newsletter)

THANK YOU ALL for sharing your time, talents and treasures in Project Renovation.  Much has been accomplished, friendships are growing, and new skills are learned!  Everyone is invited to come check it out.  There is always something that you can do when you come to the building.

Left: Jake Hodge, Sonya Burrell, Sharon Mutchler, and Connie Hodge hanging drywall.

Right: Kathy Bomba “a cleaning as we go!"

Building 1- The Stage and Access Ramp were framed and inspected.  The Bathrooms were framed in and plumbed, ready to be dry walled.  The Soffit in the Worship Center, covering the steel tubing was started.  The Warming Kitchen was designed by the Kitchen committee and John Miller, esquire.  The main electrical panel was installed and juiced up.  Lighting wiring was completed for the Fellowship Area and Kitchen.

Building 2- Much drywall was hung.  A soffit was built around the furnace drain line in the Children’s Worship Area.  Much drywall was hung.  The Rough-in Electrical inspection went smoothly.  Much drywall was hung. We are almost done with the first layer of ceiling drywall, and beginning
the second layer (a fire safety requirement).  We are approximately 75% done with the drywall on the walls.

Right: A couple of skilled carpenter friends from the Sunbury Vineyard framed our stage.

Workday March 25

The following are pictures from the workday on Saturday, March 25.  It was a small crowd that day, with the ever-present Kenyon College delegation.  I must apologize for the few pictures posted as Josh C. and I were hanging, or attempting to hang drywall.

Drywall, being hung in the new toddler room.

Ernie Eash, supervision with popsicle.

The worship center stage in the process of being built.  It is awesome to see the building taking shape.  It was hard, in the beginning to imagine how rooms and the worship center would be arranged.  Then the framing went up and it was a little easier, though with just studs visualizing that room was still hard.  Now the drywall is almost complete and the rafters in the worship area are replaced and the bathrooms are now taking form. It is easier and more exciting I think to view how the building will be when it is finished.

Work Days for the week of March 26

Hello Vineyard workers,

The workdays this week are Thursday night 6-9 pm and Saturday 9 am to 3 pm.  Next week is Friday 6-9 pm and Saturday 9-10 am and noon-3 pm, with the Ham giveaway from 10 am to noon.

We are currently hanging drywall, framing the stage, doing electrical work, insulating the walls, repairing the existing drywall, cleaning, and hanging some more drywall.

Come and see what God is doing.  It is fun to see how God has transformed the building from a furniture store into a mess, which will soon be a place dedicated to seeing His Kingdom break into the lives of people all over Knox county.

Have a great week.
Paul H.
