Our pastor, staff, and congregation are truly passionate about local missions. We believe that the "mission field" is not just abroad, but right here in our own backyard. We offer opportunities for our members to serve our local community and love our neighbors. We also give our neighborhood "no-strings-attached" opportunities for safe family fun. Scroll on to see some of the ways VCKC is currently engaging with our most immediate neighbors.
Lamb Park is a baseball field and gathering space right in the heart of our neighborhood, just a couple blocks from the church. We hold celebrations, concerts, and services here. VCKC maintains this property as a gift to the community to enjoy.
The children's playground is an on-going vision to create a safe, fun play space in our neighborhood. It will be located behind the church, near the community garden. We are still raising funds for this vision, and you can make a special financial donation toward it here.
If you have special gifts or connections that may assist us in making this dream a reality, please contact us.
The mission house is located behind the church building. Our missionaries live there full-time, and find daily opportunities to simply introduce their neighbors to Jesus, bringing the gospel into regular life activities.
Together, our church members took what used to be a location of drug-related deaths and turned it into a real, tangible location to get to know Jesus in our neighborhood.
The exercise room is located at the back of the church, past the children's wing. This serves as a place to freely enter into better health so we can be even more effective in serving God's Kingdom.
